NEW (April 3, 2015) -- General Release of IEP Model Version 2.0
As a result of the Department of Energy's SunShot Initiative project with SolarNexus, we are pleased to announce the GA release of the 2.0 version of the IEP Model. More about the 2.0 IEP Model Release.
The IEP Model is a free, public data model for describing solar and energy efficiency projects. Software vendors and companies implementing their own software solutions build their software to read and write standardized data using the IEP Model, thereby lowering the risk and cost of integrating software, and enabling their application to participate in a growing ecosystem of participating vendors.
The IEP Model was originally developed through a California Solar Initiative RD&D grant. In an effort to gain greater commercial adoption, the US Department of Energy's SunShot program has contributed funding to enhance the standard and demonstrate commercial viability.
